按钮位10大盲注泡沫游戏(BTN 10bb Bubble Play)

BTN 10bb Bubble Play

Refers to strategic decisions and play when on the button with a stack of about 10 big blinds during the tournament bubble phase.

Overview

BTN 10bb Bubble Play is a specific scenario in Texas Hold'em tournaments: the player is on the button (BTN) with approximately 10 big blinds (bb) and the tournament is at the bubble phase (i.e., one elimination away from the money). At this point, stack depth is shallow, ICM (Independent Chip Model) pressure is significant, and decisions must balance fold equity against blind stealing opportunities.

Strategy Points

Position Advantage

The button has a positional advantage post-flop, being able to see all opponents’ actions before making a decision. With a short stack of 10bb, the strategy is usually limited to shove or fold pre-flop, but the button can still leverage position to pressure the blinds.

Jam Range

A typical shoving range is about 20%-30% of starting hands, for example: all pairs, suited Aces, offsuit Aces (A2+), suited Kings, K9o+, Q9s+, J9s+, etc. The exact range should be adjusted based on opponents’ calling tendencies.

Considerations

  • Chip counts of the blinds: If the blinds have more than 10bb, their calling willingness decreases, allowing you to widen your shoving range.
  • Opponent aggressiveness: If the blinds often fold, widen your range; if they call often, tighten up.
  • Your own image: A tight-passive image is favorable for stealing blinds.

ICM Impact

On the bubble, due to the significant prize jump, fold equity increases. Short-stacked players tend to avoid busting, so BTN shoves are more likely to force folds from opponents. However, be aware of the risk of losing chips when called.

Common Mistakes

  • Overly conservative: Believing the bubble requires extreme tightness, thus wasting the button's steal opportunities.
  • Ignoring opponent adjustments: Failing to dynamically observe whether opponents are aware of bubble pressure and have adjusted their calling ranges.
