BTN Flop Open Rainbow describes a flop texture where the three community cards are all of different suits (rainbow) and none of them match in rank (open, i.e., unpaired). This term is often used in the context of a player on the button (BTN) who raised preflop and is now considering a continuation bet.

Strategic Implications

An open rainbow flop is considered a dry board because it offers no flush draws and no pair. The absence of draws means that opponents are less likely to have strong draws, making the flop relatively safe for the preflop raiser. From the button's perspective, this is an ideal spot for a continuation bet (c-bet), as the lack of draws makes it harder for opponents to call without a made hand.

• C-bet frequency: On such boards, a high c-bet frequency (70-80% or more) is common, especially against tight opponents.
• Defense: Opponents should defend with a wider-than-usual range of made hands and possibly some backdoor draws, but they cannot rely on flush draws.
