按钮河牌五加注成对(BTN River 5-Bet Paired)

Refers to the button player making a fifth bet re-raise after a 4-bet on the river with a paired board.

Overview

“BTN River 5-Bet Paired” is not a standard term in Texas Hold’em but a description of an extreme hand scenario. It combines position (BTN, button), street (River), number of raises (5-Bet, fifth raise), and board structure (Paired). In actual play, four or more raises on the river are extremely rare, let alone five; thus, this scenario is highly uncommon and appears mostly in theoretical discussions or deliberately constructed teaching examples.

Position and Betting Levels

  • BTN (button) is one of the most advantageous positions in Texas Hold’em, acting last and having more information.
  • A 5-Bet refers to the fifth raise after at least four previous raises, either preflop or postflop. Postflop, especially on the river, common raise levels are: bet → raise → re-raise (3-bet) → 4-bet, after which further raises typically stop due to stack depth and hand strength limitations. A 5-Bet implies both players hold very strong hands and have deep effective stacks.

Meaning of Paired Board

“Paired” means that after the river is dealt, the board (five cards) contains at least one pair (e.g., K♠K♥7♦2♣2♠). A paired board increases the likelihood of full houses or quads and reduces the probability of draws completing.

Typical Situation

This term may describe an extreme scenario: a 4-bet preflop, followed by multiple raises across postflop streets, culminating in a paired board on the river where the BTN makes a fifth raise. Such a scenario typically indicates the BTN holds an extremely strong made hand (e.g., full house or quads), while the opponent may also have a strong hand.

Notes

Since “5-Bet” is highly uncommon postflop, this term is not widely recognized. In actual play, the number of raises on the river rarely exceeds four. If encountered in non-standard discussions, users should infer its specific meaning from context.
