The core purpose is to achieve interest transfer or fraud through abnormal table operations. In practice, this behavior is often used in team cheating, such as two players colluding where one deliberately folds or bets without resistance, allowing the other to easily win chips, thereby illegally transferring funds in tournaments or cash games. Typical scenario: In an online poker room, Player A and Player B collude; Player A goes all-in pre-flop, Player B calls with a weak hand, then Player A folds, causing Player B to win a large number of chips. This behavior undermines game fairness. Once discovered, players may face account bans, confiscation of prizes, and other penalties.

This behavior typically occurs in online poker or private games, severely undermining the fairness of the game.
Common Forms
- Direct folding: Intentionally folding a strong hand, allowing the opponent to win without a showdown.
- Weak hand raising: Making a large raise or all-in with a weak hand, inducing the opponent to call and lose chips.
- Collaborative bluffing: Two players collude, one bluffs and the other calls, achieving chip transfer.
Motivations
- Tournament advantage: In a tournament, a player may transfer chips to a more competitive ally to increase the team's chances of winning.
- Money laundering or debt repayment: Transferring funds through poker games to evade regulation.
- Malicious manipulation: Reducing a specific player's chips or boosting another player's ranking.
Detection & Penalties
Online poker platforms typically use algorithms to monitor abnormal hand patterns, such as:
- Players frequently going all-in preflop and losing.
- Chip flow between two players being one‑way and of substantial amounts.
- Win rates severely inconsistent with hand strength. Once confirmed, the platform will confiscate the illicit chips, ban the accounts, and may reclaim prize money. In live games, chip dumping is also prohibited; violators may be expelled or blacklisted.
