CO 15bb 反偷盲(CO 15bb Resteal)

CO 15bb Resteal

In the CO position right of the dealer with about 15 big blinds, re-raising usually all-in against a raise from the button or blinds to steal the blinds and dead money.

Concept

Resteal refers to the act of fighting back against a suspected blind-steal attempt by re-raising (often all-in) when you believe your opponent's raise is an attempt to steal the blinds. "CO 15bb Resteal" specifically refers to the resteal strategy executed from the Cut Off (CO) position with a stack depth of approximately 15 big blinds.

Stack Depth and Position Meaning

  • 15bb Stack Depth: This is a typical "short stack" or "medium-short stack" stage in tournaments. At this depth, a player's hand range is relatively wide, but the threat of an all-in is significant enough to put pressure on opponents. With a deeper stack (e.g., 25bb+), a resteal may need to be sized larger; with a shallower stack (e.g., under 10bb), the play is more inclined toward shoving or folding outright.
  • CO Position: The Cut Off is the seat before the Button (BTN) and after the blinds. The primary target of a resteal from CO is the BTN's steal raise, as the BTN has the highest tendency to steal. It can also target raises from the blinds, but because of their positional disadvantage, such raises are usually stronger.

Strategy Points

  • Range Selection: Generally use medium-strength hands like middle pairs (77-99), suited connectors (JTs, T9s), or high cards (AT+). Avoid restealing with pure garbage, as you will often be at a disadvantage if called.
  • Consider Opponent Tendencies: If the BTN steals frequently (high steal rate), you can widen your resteal range. If the opponent is tight, narrow your range.
  • ICM Influence: In tournaments, near the money bubble or final table, restealing carries higher risk (greater cost of elimination), so adjust your range accordingly.
  • Fold Equity: At 15bb, if the opponent's fold equity after raising is high enough, restealing can be profitable even with slightly weaker hands. Example: BTN raises to 2.5bb, CO shoves 15bb. BTN needs to call 12.5bb to win a pot of about 19bb (including blinds and dead money), requiring about 40% equity to be profitable. If BTN's range is wide, CO's fold equity is substantial.

Risks and Rewards

  • Reward: Directly winning the pot increases your stack by about 3-4bb (depending on raise size), which is significant for a short stack.
  • Risk: If your opponent holds a strong hand (e.g., TT+, AQ+), you are often at a disadvantage when called, and may even be eliminated. Additionally, if the blinds have deep stacks or are aggressive players, they may isolate-raise.

Summary

"CO 15bb Resteal" is a high-risk, high-reward tournament strategy that must be carefully executed based on opponent tendencies, ICM considerations, and your own range. Success hinges on accurately judging the opponent's steal frequency and calling range.
