CO位置200大盲注深度ICM局面(CO 200bb ICM Spot)
CO 200bb ICM Spot
In tournaments or SNGs, when the stack depth is about 200 big blinds, the player in the CO position needs to make decisions based on the ICM model.
Term Composition
- CO (Cut Off): Refers to the first position to the right of the button, a middle-to-late position that typically offers good positional advantage for stealing and defending against steals.
- 200bb: A stack depth of approximately 200 big blinds, which is a deep-stack stage. Hand ranges are relatively wide and play is more complex.
- ICM (Independent Chip Model): A model used to evaluate the monetary value of chips in a tournament, rather than simply pot odds.
Playing Characteristics
With a 200bb deep stack, ICM pressure is relatively low (since you’re far from the money bubble or payout jumps), but you still need to consider:
- CO Position: After earlier players fold, the CO can open-raise or steal blinds but also faces counter-attacks from the BTN and blinds.
- Opponent Ranges: In deep-stacked play, opponents may call or re-raise with wider ranges, especially when in position.
- ICM Impact: Near the bubble or payout jumps, ICM forces players to be more conservative to avoid elimination. However, at 200bb depth, the ICM factor is often close to 1, meaning chip value roughly equals tournament equity.
Typical Strategies
- Opening Range: When no one has opened before you, the CO can raise about 2.5–3bb. The hand range can be widened to about 25%–30% of starting hands, including all pairs, suited connectors, and some Ax hands.
- Facing a 3-bet: In deep-stacked play, the 4-bet range should not be too wide because 3-bet hands are often polarized. Use strong hands to call or make modest 4-bets.
- Defending the Blinds: If the blinds are aggressive, the CO needs to protect his opens to avoid being exploited by frequent 3-bets.
Notes
- ICM Dynamics: Although ICM influence is smaller with deep stacks, if there are short-stacked players, you still need to consider the equity gain from eliminating them.
- Opponent Tendencies: Adjust your strategy against different styles—for example, steal more against tight-passive players, but tighten your range against aggressive ones.
