CO位深筹码反偷(CO 200bb Resteal)

CO 200bb Resteal

When holding a deep stack of about 200 big blinds in the CO position cutoff, the strategy of re-raising typically a 3-bet or all-in in response to an opponent's blind steal.

Position and Stack Context

CO (Cut Off) is the position after the gun (UTG) and before the button (BTN) in the preflop action order. This position usually has a wider raising range due to postflop positional advantage (only the button is behind). With a stack depth of approximately 200 big blinds (BB), the player is deep-stacked, which provides more room for maneuvering but also involves greater risk.

Definition of Resteal

Resteal refers to countering an opponent's attempt to steal the blinds (raising from a late position with a wide range) by re-raising with a strong or bluff hand. A typical resteal scenario: the opponent raises from the button or CO, and the player 3-bets from the blinds or an earlier position.

Characteristics of a CO 200BB Resteal

  • Range Selection: The resteal range usually includes value hands (e.g., TT+, AQ+) and bluff hands (e.g., A5s, K9s, and other suited connectors), but the bluff frequency needs adjustment at deep stacks because the effective stack is deeper, making calls or re-raises more likely.
  • Positional Disadvantage: After restealing from the CO, the player may be in a neutral or disadvantageous postflop position (depending on whether they are called or re-raised), so caution is required.
  • Stack Depth Impact: At 200BB, a resteal may face a 4-bet or a large postflop pot after a call, so it is advisable to choose hands with nut potential or blockers.

Strategic Motivation

  • Prevent opponents from profiting by frequently stealing blinds.
  • Balance your own range to make it difficult for opponents to read.
  • Use deep stacks to maximize fold equity (opponents may fold due to fear of postflop losses).

Typical Example

Assume all players fold to the CO, you have 200BB, and the button player (100BB) raises to 3BB. You are in the CO with A♠5♠ and choose to 3-bet to 9BB. This uses the blocker (A) and suited potential to resteal. If the button folds, you win the pot; if called, you can continue betting postflop with your position and hand strength.

Notes

  • Do not resteal too frequently, or you risk being exploited.
  • Reduce bluff resteals against tight-aggressive players.
  • At deep stacks, mix value raises and balanced bluffs.
