关位40大盲反偷盲(CO 40bb Resteal)
CO 40bb Resteal
When effective stacks are around 40 big blinds, the cutoff player re-steals re-raises against a steal attempt from the button or an earlier position.
Concept
CO 40bb Resteal is a common anti-steal strategy in poker tournaments or deep-stacked cash games. It specifically refers to using positional and stack advantage to counter a steal attempt from the Button (BTN) or an earlier position (e.g., Hijack, UTG) when sitting in the Cutoff (CO) with an effective stack of approximately 40 Big Blinds (BB).
Applicable Scenarios
- High opponent steal frequency: When players in the Button or earlier positions frequently make standard or small raise steals, the CO player can re-raise with medium-strength hands (e.g., medium pairs, suited connectors, weak Aces) to force folds or reveal hand strength.
- Stack depth sensitivity: 40BB is one of the golden depths for restealing. If the stack is too shallow (e.g., <20BB), the resteal may not apply enough pressure; if too deep (e.g., >60BB), opponents are more likely to call or re-raise, requiring stronger hand support.
- Position advantage: The Cutoff (CO) is second only to the Button in positional advantage post-flop. After a re-raise, if the opponent calls, the CO player can use position to control betting节奏 (rhythm) post-flop.
Key Strategy Points
- Range selection: Typical resteal ranges include medium pairs (77-JJ), suited connectors (JTs, T9s, etc.), and A9s-AQs. Pure trash hands should be avoided, as opponents may adjust.
- Raise sizing: Usually re-raise to 3-4 times the opponent's raise (i.e., about 9-12BB). If the opponent raises to 2-3BB, re-raising to 9-12BB creates fold equity without over-inflating the pot.
- Responding to 4-bet: If the opponent 4-bets, most hands should be folded, reserving only super-strong hands like AA/KK/QQ. At 40BB depth, a 4-bet typically represents strength.
- Post-flop plan: If called, continuation bet or check-fold based on board texture. Continue aggression with top pair or draws; otherwise, give up.
Risks and Adjustments
- Beware of opponent counter-adjustments. If an opponent frequently 4-bets, reduce resteal frequency or call with a more conservative range.
- This strategy is particularly effective in the middle stages of tournaments (when blind levels are higher), as players tend to steal more often.
- Do not execute mechanically; adapt to opponent tendencies and table dynamics.
