CO位50BB全下或弃牌策略(CO 50bb Push Fold)

CO 50bb Push Fold

When the stack depth is 50 big blinds, the player in the CO position only executes two actions: all-in or fold — a simplified push-fold strategy.

Overview

CO 50bb Push Fold is a strategy in Texas Hold'em for a specific stack depth, requiring the player in the Cut Off (CO, the first position to the right of the button) with 50 big blinds (BB) to consider only two decisions: all-in (Push) or fold (Fold), abandoning actions such as raising or calling.

Applicable Scenarios

Push Fold strategies are typically used in shallow stack situations, e.g., 10-20 BB, aiming to simplify decisions and reduce errors from complex judgments. However, 50 BB is relatively deep, so this strategy is rarely used in regular cash games or early tournament stages. This term may originate from specific late tournament scenarios (e.g., under ICM pressure) or hypothetical situations in training tools. In practice, players should combine opponent tendencies, table dynamics, and ICM factors for comprehensive assessment.

Strategy Principle

  • All-in Range: Usually includes strong hands (e.g., QQ+, AK) and some hands for blind stealing, but at 50 BB depth, all-ins require stronger hand strength to avoid being called by a wide range.
  • Fold Range: The remaining hands with insufficient strength, to avoid complex post-flop situations.

Considerations

This strategy ignores post-flop skills and may lose value at 50 BB depth. It is not recommended to apply mechanically unless in special tournament structures or during the bubble. Players should have the ability to adjust, flexibly changing the all-in threshold based on opponents' calling ranges.

Example

Assume the CO holds 50 BB, with hole cards of A9o. If employing the Push Fold strategy, evaluate: Will an all-in be called by the button or blinds with a wider range? If the opponent's calling range is tight (e.g., JJ+, AK), then pushing is profitable; otherwise, fold.
