Poker Term

CO位湿润翻牌4-Bet(CO Flop 4-Bet Wet)

Refers to a fourth raise (usually a re-raise on the flop after a preflop 3-bet) made by the player in the CO position on a wet flop.

Overview

This term is not a standard poker term and is commonly found in advanced strategy discussions. Typically, a 4-bet refers to the fourth raise before the flop, but here "Flop" is included, possibly indicating the fourth betting action on the flop. A wet board (Wet) refers to a board with multiple drawing possibilities, such as straight or flush draws. The CO position (cutoff) is a late position, and a 4-bet on such a board usually represents a strong made hand or a strong draw, aiming to maximize value or apply pressure. Since the term is non-standard, it must be interpreted based on context.

Differences from Standard Terminology

  • In standard poker, preflop raises are sequentially called: open, 3-bet, 4-bet, etc.
  • Postflop raises are typically called bet, raise, re-raise, not numbered raises.
  • Therefore, "Flop 4-Bet" may be an informal way of saying "a re-raise of a 3-bet on the flop."

Strategic Implications

On a wet flop (e.g., two-tone or connected board), a player may hold a made hand or a draw. A 4-bet from the CO on the flop (i.e., the fourth betting action on the flop) usually indicates a very strong hand or a strong draw, with the intention of forcing opponents to fold or controlling the pot. However, the specific range should be adjusted based on the opponent's profile and the effective stack depth.
