Poker Term

CO翻牌5-Bet彩虹面(CO Flop 5-Bet Rainbow)

A rare situation where a 5-bet is made on the flop from the CO position with a rainbow flop all three cards of different suits.

Term Composition

  • CO: Cut-off, the position to the right of the button, acting late on the flop.
  • Flop: The first three community cards dealt.
  • 5-Bet: Typically refers to the fifth bet preflop (Open → 3-Bet4-Bet5-Bet), but on the flop this term is non-standard and may indicate the fifth raise action on that street.
  • Rainbow: The three flop cards are all of different suits, eliminating flush draw possibilities.

Usage and Context

This term is uncommon in standard poker theory, as post-flop betting sequences are usually described with "Bet", "Raise", "Re-raise", etc., rather than numerical labels. It may appear in informal discussion or misusage, describing an extremely aggressive flop raise with a board that blocks flush draws. In actual gameplay, the first bet on the flop (when no one has bet) is called a "Bet", and subsequent raises are "Raise", "Re-raise", "Re-re-raise", etc. A "5-Bet" is rarely used in this context.

Strategic Significance

Literally interpreted, a CO flop 5-bet (i.e., after there has already been a bet and multiple raises, and the CO re-raises again) on a rainbow board typically represents a very strong made hand (e.g., top set or straight) or an extreme bluff. A rainbow board reduces the possibility of flush draws, making it more likely that opponents hold pairs or straight draws. This play is extremely high-risk and is only suitable in deep-stack situations or specific hand-reading scenarios.

Notes

This term is not a standard poker vocabulary; understanding requires context. It is recommended to use more conventional terms like "CO Flop 4-Bet Rainbow" or simply describe the number of raises.
