CO位湿润牌面策略(CO on Wet Board)
CO on Wet Board
co-on-wet-board Refers to the betting, checking, raising, and range adjustment strategies used by a player in the CO Cut Off, right of the dealer position when the flop or turn board forms a wet draw-heavy structure.
Position and Board Texture
CO (Cut Off) is the last unentered position to act preflop, giving it informational advantage, but postflop it must face BTN (Button) acting behind. Wet Board (Wet Board) refers to a board texture with multiple drawing possibilities, such as two-suited boards, straight draws, or multiple connected cards, making it difficult to distinguish made hands from draws.
Core Strategic Principles
- Continuation Bet Tendency: On wet boards, the CO's continuation bet (C-Bet) frequency is typically higher than on dry boards, aiming to protect made hands and deny free cards to draws. However, ranges must be balanced to avoid overbluffing.
- Bet Sizing: Generally, larger bets (about 75%-100% of pot) are recommended to force drawing hands to pay poor odds; but in multiway pots, sizing can be reduced (50%-75%).
- Check Range: CO should include some medium-strength hands like middle pairs, top pair weak kicker, or low pairs to guard against BTN's raise and retain bluffing potential on later streets.
- Facing a Raise: If BTN raises on a wet board, CO should generally fold weak made hands, and call/re-raise with top pair or better, or strong draws.
Typical Example
Assume the flop is 7♠8♠9♦ (wet board). CO's range includes top pair (e.g., 10♥9♥), two pair (e.g., 98), straight (e.g., 106), flush draw (A♠2♠), and air. CO should bet top pair or better, while bluffing with some flush draws and gutshots; middle pairs (e.g., 88, 99? Actually 88 is top pair) can check. If BTN raises, CO's calling range should be limited to top pair with a flush draw or better.
Common Mistakes
- Overbluffing: Wet boards have low hit rates, but excessive bluffing frequency invites calls or raises.
- Betting too small: Underbets fail to deny draws and expose hand strength.
- Ignoring range balance: If only betting made hands, opponents can easily fold.
Adjustment Factors
Adjust flexibly based on opponent type, stack depth, and table dynamics: reduce bluffs against calling stations, tighten betting range against aggressive players.
