关煞位河牌持续下注静态策略(CO River C-Bet Static)

On the river, the cutoff player continues the flop's continuation bet and adopts a static range strategy (i.e., the betting range remains linear and does not significantly adjust with board texture).

Concept Analysis

CO River C-Bet Static is a term in modern poker strategy, describing a behavior where a player in the cutoff (CO) makes a continuation bet (C-Bet) on the flop and then continues to bet on the river using a static range. "Static" means the player's betting range is not significantly polarized (i.e., it does not consist only of strong hands and bluffs), but remains linear and relatively fixed in frequency, without major adjustments based on the specific river card.

Applicable Scenarios

This strategy is typically used on dry board textures or when the opponent's calling range is weak. For example, on a flop of K♠ 7♦ 2♣, the CO bets and is called; the turn is 3♥, both players check; the river is 9♠. If the CO then bets with a range that includes all pairs, top pairs, and even medium showdown value hands, rather than only very strong hands and air, this qualifies as a static strategy.

Comparison with Dynamic Strategy

  • Dynamic Strategy: The range changes based on the river card. For instance, on a river that completes a straight or flush draw, the betting range becomes polarized (strong hands plus bluffs), while on a blank card, medium-strength hands tend to be checked.
  • Static Strategy: Regardless of whether the river improves the board, the CO bets at a fixed frequency with a range that includes various hand strengths, making it difficult for the opponent to counter by reading the board.

Strategy Rationale

The core purpose of adopting a static betting approach is to prevent the opponent from exploiting the river structure to counter the range. If the CO only bets strong hands on a blank river, the opponent can easily fold; if they only bluff on dangerous boards, the opponent will raise to exploit them. A static range forces the opponent to think about overall frequencies, increasing their decision difficulty.

Notes

This strategy is not optimal in all situations. When the opponent's range contains many draws and the river completes a clear made hand, static betting may be exploited by raises. When the in-position player's range is highly polarized, static betting can lead to insufficient value bets or excessive bluffs. It is generally recommended for low buy-in games or against passive opponents, while in high-stakes games, balance should be adjusted based on specific ranges.
