关煞位河牌湿润牌面持续下注(CO River C-Bet Wet)

Refers to a continuation bet made by the Cutoff CO player on the river when facing a wet board possible straight or flush in Texas Hold'em poker.

Term Explanation

CO (Cutoff) is a favorable position next to the button. At the river, we are already in the post-flop stage. A wet board refers to a board where multiple draws are possible (e.g., flush draws, straight draws), resulting in a wide range of made hands.

This bet represents the CO player continuing to attack on the river, commonly seen when holding strong made hands (e.g., top pair or better) or when intending to represent a strong hand as a bluff. Since the CO position often enters the pot with a raise preflop, the continuation bet (C-Bet) on the flop has natural credibility, but caution is needed on wet boards:

  • Value Bet: If the CO player holds nut-type hands (e.g., straights, flushes), a wet board can expect to extract value from opponents' weaker made hands or when their draws miss.
  • Bluff: On a board where draws have missed, the CO player can represent the story of completing a strong hand, forcing opponents to fold medium-strength hands.
  • Defensive Consideration: Wet boards easily make opponents perceive danger. If the CO player checks, it may reveal weakness, so occasionally betting with marginal hands to protect equity.

Typically, the CO's river bet size is slightly larger than on the flop or turn, often 2/3 to full pot, to maximize value or apply maximum pressure.

Strategy Tips

  • On wet boards, use larger bet sizes more often to reduce opponents' pot odds.
  • Avoid continuation betting on wet boards with weak hands (e.g., bottom pair) since it's difficult to get better hands to fold.
  • Consider opponent ranges: if the opponent is loose-passive, value bet frequently; if the opponent is tight-aggressive, balance your range.

This term emphasizes the combination of position, street situation, and board texture, and is a concept commonly used by advanced regular players.
