HJ 15bb 偷盲(HJ 15bb Steal)
HJ 15bb Steal
When effective stacks are around 15 big blinds, the Hijack player attempts to steal the blinds and the pot by going all-in or making a large raise.
Position and Stack Depth
Hijack (abbreviated as HJ) is the position one seat before the CO (Cutoff) at a full ring table, belonging to the middle-late position. When the effective stack depth is about 15 big blinds (bb), players often adopt the "Steal" strategy, which leverages the relative advantage of this position to force the blinds and subsequent players to fold through raises or all-ins, thereby directly winning the blinds in the pot.
Strategy Logic
- Range Selection: At 15bb depth, HJ's stealing range typically includes all pairs, A-high hands, some suited connectors (e.g., 67s), and suited gappers (e.g., Q9s), but specifics should be adjusted based on opponents.
- Bet Sizing: In typical examples, players may raise to 2.2-2.5bb or go all-in. All-in maximizes fold equity and avoids being profitably called.
- Risk Considerations: After HJ, there are still CO, BTN, and blind positions. The success rate of stealing decreases especially when the blinds or CO have tight-aggressive players or large stacks. Additionally, if re-raised or called, 15bb stacks often can only go all-in once, leaving no further room.
Applicable Scenarios
- When blind players have high fold rates (e.g., too tight or short-stacked).
- When your own hand has showdown value but is not strong enough to limp, or is a weak hand, needing to accumulate chips via stealing.
- During tournament bubble or under ICM pressure, opponents may be more inclined to play conservatively.
Notes
- Avoid over-stealing: If executed too frequently, opponents will adjust their ranges and fight back.
- Consider table image: Tight-aggressive players have higher success rates when stealing occasionally; loose-aggressive players need to be more cautious.
- Effective stack changes: If actual stack is below 15bb, it may be more inclined to all-in or fold; if above 15bb, consider smaller raises to leave room.
Summary
HJ 15bb Steal is a common blind-stealing tactic in tournaments or deep-stack cash games, applying pressure through position and stack depth, and should be used in conjunction with opponent dynamics and range balancing.
