HJ翻牌前下注-弃牌(湿牌面适用)(HJ Preflop Bet-Fold Wet)

A strategy of betting preflop from the hijack HJ and folding if facing a re-raise, particularly suitable for wet board textures that are prone to drawing hands.

Position Background

HJ (Hijack) is the position at a full ring table located after UTG (Under the Gun) and before the middle positions. Preflop, HJ typically raises with a wide range to steal the blinds and exploit positional advantage.

Strategy Principle

“HJ Preflop Bet-Fold Wet” refers to the strategy where HJ, after betting (e.g., raising or 3-betting) preflop, chooses to fold when facing a re-raise (e.g., 3-bet or 4-bet) in anticipation of a wet flop (i.e., a board with strong connectivity and high drawing potential). The core of this strategy is investing a small amount preflop to probe the opponent’s hand strength; if met with strong resistance, cut losses promptly to avoid larger losses on subsequent wet boards. A wet flop often triggers aggressive play from opponents with draws or made hands, so over-committing preflop can expose weaknesses.

Applicable Scenarios

  • When HJ holds marginal hands (e.g., small to medium pocket pairs, suited connectors), a preflop bet can generate fold equity, but fold to a re-raise to avoid being dominated.
  • When the flop is expected to have a high probability of draws (e.g., opponent’s range contains many flush or straight draws), preflop aggression may be exploited by opponents.

Notes

  • This strategy should be adjusted based on opponent tendencies: increase fold frequency against aggressive players, consider calling or re-raising against passive players.
  • Not all wet flops apply; evaluate preflop bet sizing and pot odds.
  • Avoid overusing this strategy, as it may become exploitable by observant opponents.
