劫持位河牌湿润飘浮(HJ River Float Wet)

When the river board is wet, the player in the HJ position uses the calling range established in previous rounds to bluff by betting.

Overview

HJ River Float Wet is a post-flop strategy targeting a specific position, centered on exploiting the increased fold equity of opponents on wet boards to bluff. This strategy requires the player to call (float) with a wide range on the flop or turn, with the goal of forcing opponents to fold their made hands by betting when the river board becomes wet.

Strategy Principles

  • Positional Advantage: HJ (Hijack) is in a middle-to-late position, offering better information gathering ability to adjust plans based on opponents' actions post-flop.
  • Board Structure: Wet boards often include flush or straight draw possibilities, such as two-tone or connected boards. These boards make opponents feel threatened when holding medium-strength made hands (e.g., top pair), thereby narrowing their calling range.
  • Fold Equity: When betting on the river, opponents' fold rates increase significantly due to fear that you have completed a draw. The Float strategy targets this psychological tendency.

Implementation Steps

  1. Flop Stage: From the HJ position, call the opponent's continuation bet with non-premium hands (e.g., medium pairs, suited connectors). The condition is that the flop structure does not give your hand a clear draw, allowing you to disguise it as a strong draw or a very strong hand.
  2. Turn Stage: If the turn does not change the board (still offering draw possibilities), continue calling or raise depending on the situation to maintain an aggressive image.
  3. River Stage: When the river completes various draws (e.g., backdoor flush or straight) and the opponent shows weakness (e.g., checking), make a large bluff bet. Typical bet size is 70% to 100% of the pot, putting maximum pressure on the opponent.

Notes

  • Only applicable when the opponent is capable of folding top pair or better. The strategy fails against a "calling station".
  • Consider your own image. If you have been caught floating multiple times previously, opponents will adjust their calling range.
  • Frequency control: Do not use it too often in the same session to avoid being exploited.

Summary

HJ River Float Wet is an advanced bluffing technique that leverages positional advantage and board structure to exert maximum pressure on wet river boards. The key lies in correctly assessing opponents' fold tendencies and maintaining range balance.
