HJ河牌单色面隔离加注(HJ River Isolation Raise Monotone)
On the river, when the board is monotone all cards of the same suit, the HJ Hijack player makes an isolation raise against an opponent's bet.
Term Composition
- HJ: Indicates player position, the Hijack, which is the second seat to the right of the button (to the right of CO in a 6-max table).
- River: The final betting round after the last community card is dealt.
- Isolation Raise: A raise designed to force other opponents to fold, creating a heads-up situation with a specific opponent.
- Monotone: A board where all community cards share the same suit (e.g., all five cards are spades).
Strategic Background & Purpose
- On a monotone river, flush hands become critical. An HJ player holding a flush can use an isolation raise for value; if holding a blocker (e.g., a single suited ace), they can bluff.
- The isolation raise aims to eliminate intermediate callers, increasing the chance of going heads-up with the original bettor, thereby leveraging position or hand strength.
- Typical scenario: HJ holds the nut flush, faces a small bet from an early position, and raises to build the pot and force out players who missed their flush draws.
Notes
- The sizing of the isolation raise should consider the opponent's range: if the bettor is prone to bluffing, raise smaller; if value-betting, raise larger.
- On a monotone board with no pairs, be mindful of the possibility of a full house or a straight flush.
Example
- Board: A♠ K♠ 5♠ 2♠ Q♠ (monotone). HJ holds J♠ T♠ (nut flush). CO bets 2/3 pot. HJ raises to pot size, forcing BTN to fold, creating a heads-up situation with CO.
