关煞位偷盲范围(CO blind-stealing range)
CO blind-stealing range
In Texas Hold'em, the range of starting hands with which a player in the cutoff position raises to steal the blinds from the players in the blind positions.
Concept
Cutoff (CO for short) is the position to the right of the button in Texas Hold'em. Due to its positional advantage, the CO is a common position for blind stealing. Blind stealing refers to raising from a position of advantage when no one has entered the pot, forcing the blinds to fold and winning the pot outright. Stealing range refers to the starting hand combinations that the CO chooses to raise in this scenario.
Typical Range
CO stealing range is typically wide, roughly consisting of three parts:
- Value hands: e.g., big pairs (TT+), strong Aces (A9s+, AQo+) – these hands remain playable even if called.
- Medium hands: e.g., small pairs (22-99), suited connectors (87s+) – these have potential to hit on the flop.
- Bluff hands: e.g., junk suited cards (K2s, Q4s) – purely relying on fold equity.
An example range (about 35% of starting hands): all pairs, all Ace-high (A2s+, A9o+), suited connectors (54s+), one-gap suited (J9s+, Q9s+), some Kx suited (K6s+), some Qx suited (Q8s+).
Adjustment Factors
Stealing range needs to be dynamically adjusted based on the style of the blinds:
- If the blinds are tight-passive, widen the range, adding more junk hands.
- If the blinds are loose-aggressive or frequently 3-bet, tighten the range, folding weak hands.
- Stack depth matters: with deep stacks, you can widen slightly due to good implied odds; with short stacks, tighten up because of the high risk of opponent shoving.
Considerations
- Blind stealing is not mindless raising; you must observe opponent tendencies and table dynamics.
- Using the same range too frequently will be exploited; mix in folds or limping as appropriate.
- Respect ICM: during tournament bubble phases, be more cautious with steals.
Summary
Cutoff stealing range is an important tool for CO players to profit. By constructing a reasonable range and adjusting based on opponents, you can maximize steal success.
