小盲持续下注范围

Term: Small Blind C-Bet Range Refers to the range of hand combinations a player selects when making a continuation bet C-Bet on the flop, after having called or raised preflop while in the small blind position.

Concept

The small blind continuation betting range is a combination of positional strategy and continuation betting strategy in Texas Hold'em. The small blind position is at a disadvantage postflop (acting first) and has invested part of the pot (forced blind), so its continuation betting range requires more careful construction.

Range Characteristics

  • Value portion: Typically includes strong made hands on the flop, such as top pair or better, two pair, trips, etc. These hands are bet for value and protection.
  • Bluff portion: Choose hands with backdoor draws or high card connectors (e.g., suited connectors with A or K), or gutshot straight draws, to apply pressure using flop fold equity.
  • Range balance: Since the small blind position struggles to control the pot postflop, the continuation bet frequency is usually lower than on the button or cutoff, to avoid over-bluffing.

Strategy Considerations

  • Flop structure: On dry flops (e.g., rainbow no straight draw), the small blind continuation betting range can be wider due to higher fold equity; on wet flops (e.g., straight or flush draws), the range should be more value-oriented.
  • Opponent tendencies: Against opponents with high fold equity, increase bluff bets; against calling stations, mainly bet for value.
  • Stack depth: When deep stacked, the small blind continuation betting range can include more draws to extract value or bluff on later streets.

Example

Typical small blind continuation betting range (assuming flop: Q♠7♦2♣):

  • Value bet: AQ, KQ, QJ, 77, 22, Q7, etc.
  • Bluff bet: AK, AJ (backdoor flush or straight draws), 86s (gutshot straight draw), etc.
