中位150大盲反偷盲(MP 150bb Resteal)

MP 150bb Resteal

Refers to the strategy of re-raising resteal against a late position player's blind steal when the stack is about 150 big blinds, from the middle position MP.

Overview

MP 150bb Resteal is a common strategic scenario in Texas Hold'em cash games or tournaments. It describes the resteal operation performed by a player in middle position (MP) with approximately 150 big blinds (bb) when facing a steal raise from a late-position player (e.g., CO, BTN). The core of this strategy is to leverage deep-stack advantages and the late-position player's wider stealing range, using a 3-bet or re-raise to reclaim pot control.

Strategic Principles

  • Position Factor: MP has a mediocre position, but 150bb deep stacks give the player enough room for post-flop play. Late-position players (especially on the button) typically have a wide stealing range, including many weak hands (e.g., small pairs, suited connectors, weak A-highs, etc.).
  • Range Warfare: When a late-position player raises to about 2.5-3bb, MP's 3-bet range should include value hands (e.g., TT+, AJ+) and an appropriate number of bluffs (e.g., A5s, K9s, etc.) to achieve balance. With 150bb deep stacks, the appropriate 3-bet size is typically 7-9bb, enough to force folds without wasting too many chips.
  • Stack Depth Considerations: 150bb is deep but not overly so. After a resteal, if facing a 4-bet, the player must decide whether to call or fold based on opponent tendencies. Generally, be cautious against a tight-aggressive opponent's 4-bet, but continue against loose-passive players.

Applicable Scenarios

  • Opponent's steal frequency is above average (e.g., VPIP/PFR data shows BTN steal rate > 40%).
  • Your own hand has good playability (e.g., straight or flush potential).
  • Players in later positions (e.g., the big blind) are unlikely to enter, reducing the risk of multi-way pots.

Notes

  • Do not overuse this strategy, as opponents may adjust accordingly.
  • Avoid shoving recklessly after facing a 4-bet, especially when the opponent's range is strong.
  • Post-flop, you need sufficient skill to maintain aggression; otherwise, the resteal loses its purpose.
