• Range Selection: MP's defense range should include strong hands (e.g., TT+, AQ+) for re-raising, along with some medium-strength hands (e.g., small-medium pairs, suited connectors) for calling, to avoid being frequently stolen from.

Relationship with ICM

In tournaments, ICM pressure becomes apparent at 25bb depth, especially near the money bubble. The defense range must balance the need for survival and chip accumulation, avoiding weak hands that lead to passive postflop situations.
