MP侵略性频率(MP AFq)
MP AFq
Measures the frequency of a player betting or raising from the middle position MP, reflecting the player's aggressive tendency from that position.
Overview
MP AFq (Middle Position Aggression Frequency) is a poker statistic used to evaluate a player's aggression level when in middle position (typically UTG+1 in 6-max or UTG+1 to UTG+2 in 9-max). It is a positional subset of Aggression Frequency (AFq).
Calculation
AFq is calculated as:
- AFq = (Bets + Raises) / (Bets + Raises + Calls + Folds) × 100%
This formula only includes hands where the player had an opportunity to act (i.e., did not fold preflop). MP AFq further restricts the data to hands played from middle position.
Interpretation
- High MP AFq (>60%): The player frequently bets or raises from middle position, indicating a wide, aggressive range. This can make them exploitable by re-raises.
- Medium MP AFq (40%–60%): Common among balanced players who mix value bets with appropriate bluffs.
- Low MP AFq (<40%): The player tends to play passively from middle position, often calling or folding, which may lead to missed value.
Positional Impact
Middle position has worse postflop position than later positions but more information than early positions. Therefore, MP AFq is typically lower than the average AFq on the button but higher than in early positions. Adjust your strategy based on opponent MP AFq: against high AFq opponents, increase check-raise frequency; against low AFq opponents, steal blinds more often.
Notes
- A sufficient sample size (at least 200 hands from middle position is recommended) is needed for reliable statistics.
- AFq does not distinguish between bets and raises, so it does not fully reflect aggression strength (combine with Aggression Factor AF for a complete picture).
- MP AFq may deviate from baseline under different stack depths or table dynamics.
