Poker Term

MP翻牌4-Bet彩虹面(MP Flop 4-Bet Rainbow)

Refers to a scenario on the flop where a player in middle position MP makes a 4-bet, and the flop consists of three cards of different suits rainbow flop.

Term Meaning

This term is not a standard poker term. It is typically used to describe a specific hand scenario: a player in MP (Middle Position) made a 4-bet preflop, and the flop comes with three cards of different suits (a rainbow board). However, the literal translation "Flop 4-Bet" may cause ambiguity, as the concept of a 4-bet usually doesn't exist on the flop (betting on the flop starts with a bet, then a raise is a 1-raise, a re-raise is 2-raise, etc.). A more common usage is to describe preflop action: the MP player 4-bet preflop, and the flop is a rainbow.

Usage Scenarios

  • Preflop Analysis: When discussing a hand, "MP Flop 4-Bet Rainbow" indicates that the MP player initiated a 4-bet preflop, and the flop is a rainbow board. This information helps analyze range advantage and postflop strategy.
  • Teaching Examples: In strategy analysis, a coach might say, "In a MP Flop 4-Bet Rainbow scenario, the flop is relatively safe for the 4-betting range, so the continuation bet frequency should be higher."

Strategic Significance

A rainbow flop reduces the possibility of flush draws. Therefore, the 4-bettor (who usually holds a strong hand or a bluff) can better leverage their range advantage to make continuation bets on a dry board. Meanwhile, the preflop caller (who typically holds medium-strength hands or pocket pairs) needs to be cautious of the opponent's strong range.

Notes

This term is not commonly used in actual poker conversation. A more standard expression is "MP 4-bet pot, rainbow flop." When using it, clearly define the context to avoid confusion.
