中间位翻前下注-弃牌(湿润适应型)(MP Preflop Bet-Fold Wet)
A preflop strategy that involves open-raising from middle position with hands that easily form wet flops, and folding when facing a re-raise.
Position and Action
MP (Middle Position) is the seat in a full ring table after the under-the-gun position and before the hijack, in an earlier action order. Preflop Bet-Fold means voluntarily betting (usually raising or open-raising) before the flop, but folding if facing a re-raise (such as a 3-bet), avoiding getting trapped in an unfavorable pot.
Meaning of "Wet"
Here, "Wet" does not describe the preflop board (there are no community cards preflop), but rather refers to hand types: starting hands that easily form wet (draw-rich) boards postflop, such as suited connectors, small pocket pairs, and structured hands. These hands have high flop hitting rates but are weak preflop; betting allows you to leverage range advantage postflop while avoiding excessive preflop investment.
Strategy Scenarios
- Against aggressive opponents, use this strategy to protect your range while avoiding large pots.
- When players in later positions have a high 3-bet frequency, this strategy can reduce losses.
- Commonly used in deep stack situations or early tournament stages to balance your open-raising range.
Notes
This strategy can be exploited by opponents (e.g., persistent 3-betting), so you need to adjust your range based on opponent tendencies. Typical hand examples: suited connectors like 7♦8♦, small pocket pairs like 44, suited A5, etc.
