同花93(Nine Three Suited)

Nine Three Suited

指两张手牌分别为9点和3点,且花色相同。

Context: term queue-body-en: nine-three-suited

Hand Strength

Nine-three suited is generally considered a weak hand, a typical junk hand. In Texas Hold'em, it is usually not recommended to voluntarily raise or call preflop except in special situations. This hand not only has a large gap (gap of 6) but is also low, making it difficult to form strong made hands.

Potential Draws Post-Flop

Although nine-three suited itself is weak, it does have some flush draw potential due to the matching suit. The probability of flopping a flush draw (two of your suit on the flop plus one other suited card) is about 11%. As for straight draws, there are very few flop combinations that produce an open-ended straight draw, because the gap between 3 and 9 is large. Only flops such as 4-5-6, 5-6-7, 6-7-8, 7-8-10, 8-10-J, etc., can give a straight draw, and most of these are gutshots or open-enders.

Common Play Suggestions

  • Preflop: Usually in the fold zone. Only against very loose opponents and when in a favorable position (e.g., the button) might you consider calling or stealing blinds, but the risk is high.
  • Post-flop: If you flop top pair, a flush draw, or a straight draw, carefully evaluate pot odds and avoid committing too many chips. If you miss, fold quickly.

Example Scenario

Suppose you are in the big blind holding nine-three suited. The action folds to the small blind, who completes. The flop comes 9-7-2 rainbow. You have flopped top pair with a very weak kicker (3). If the opponent bets, you should proceed cautiously, as you are likely dominated by a better nine or your opponent may already have a made hand.
