中位率先加注率(PFR from MP)
PFR from MP
Refers to the rate at which a player voluntarily raises and enters the pot from middle position MP1/MP2 in a full ring or MP in a 6-handed game.
Overview
PFR (Pre-Flop Raise) is a key statistical indicator reflecting a player's aggressiveness. PFR from MP specifically refers to the pre-flop raise frequency from the Middle Position. Middle Position usually refers to MP1 and MP2 in a full ring game (9-10 players), or MP in a 6-max game (i.e., UTG+1). This statistic is often used to evaluate a player's starting hand selection tendencies when not in an early position.
Data Meaning
- Low PFR from MP (e.g., below 8%) typically indicates a player only plays strong hands, such as high pairs, AK, AQ, etc., folding many marginal hands.
- Medium range (around 10%-14%) represents a typical tight-aggressive player's strategy, including medium pairs, suited connectors, etc.
- High range (above 16%) may reflect a loose-aggressive style, including more speculative hands and hands suitable for stealing blinds.
Application Scenarios
In poker software (such as Hold'em Manager, PokerTracker), PFR from MP combined with VPIP (Voluntarily Put Money In Pot) and 3-bet data can infer an opponent's pre-flop strategy. Example: If a player has a PFR of 12% and VPIP of 16% from MP, it indicates that when entering the pot, they almost always choose to raise first and rarely limp.
Notes
This statistic requires a sufficient number of hands (recommended at least 500 hands) to be meaningful; short-term samples can be heavily influenced by luck. The definition of middle position differs between different table sizes (6-max, 9-max), so ensure the settings are accurate when analyzing.
