延迟持续下注(动态翻牌)(Preflop Delayed C-Bet on Dynamic Board)

After checking on the flop, a continuation bet on the turn on a dynamic board.

Concept

A delayed c-bet is a strategy of checking the flop and then betting on the turn. It is particularly effective when the flop texture is dynamic (i.e., boards that can easily change hand strength, such as connected or suited boards).

Principle

On a dynamic flop (e.g., 8♥7♥6♦), opponents’ ranges often connect strongly with the board via made hands or draws. A direct flop bet may face a raise or a call that leaves you in a tough spot. By checking the flop, you can:

  • Control the pot and avoid being raised out of position.
  • Encourage opponents to continue after making a hand on the turn, or give them a chance to bluff when you check.
  • When you bet the turn, you can represent a backdoor draw or a value hand.

Usage Scenarios

  • The flop connects well with the opponent’s range, but you do not have a strong top pair.
  • After the opponent checks the flop, they may give up weak hands on the turn.
  • You have a draw on the flop that misses, but improve on the turn and can then bet.

Pros and Cons

  • Pros: Saves chips, increases bluff credibility, and leverages positional factors against the opponent.
  • Cons: Gives the opponent a free card to see the turn, potentially allowing them to complete their draws.

Notes

  • Use this only when your checking range on the flop is strong enough to withstand turn aggression.
  • Adjust your turn bet sizing according to the board dynamics.
  • Pay attention to opponent tendencies and avoid overusing this line.
