湿润牌面河牌持续下注(River C-Bet on Wet Board)
After making a continuation bet on the flop or turn, betting again on the river on a wet coordinated board, aiming for value or bluff.
Overview
River C-Bet on Wet Board refers to the action of a player who, after initiating a continuation bet (C-Bet) on the flop or turn, bets again on the river when facing a wet and coordinated board. A wet board typically contains straight draws, flush draws, or multiple connected card combinations, meaning that the final board may have completed draws.
Strategic Considerations
On a wet board on the river, the bettor's range must be highly polarized—either holding strong hands (such as straights, flushes, three-of-a-kind or better) or pure bluffs. Medium-strength hands like one pair or two pair often lack sufficient showdown value and are difficult to extract value from worse hands, so they should generally be checked rather than bet.
- Value Bet: When the flop or turn draws have completed and your hand is strong, use a larger bet size to get paid by missed draws or medium-strength hands.
- Bluff Bet: If your flop draw missed on the river and your opponent's fold frequency is high enough, you can bluff. However, be aware of whether your opponent's range contains many completed draws; if they call frequently, bluff less.
- Bet Sizing: Typically use a large size (from about 75% of the pot to pot-sized) to maximize value or apply maximum pressure.
Example
Suppose the flop is J♠ T♠ 9♦ and you hold A♠ K♠ (flush draw + gutshot). You bet on the flop and get called. The turn is 8♥, you bet again and get called. The river is Q♣, completing your straight; you can now bet for value. If the river were 2♣, missing all draws, you could consider bluffing if you believe your opponent's range contains many weak hands.
Notes
River C-Betting on a wet board relies heavily on range construction and opponent modeling. Against tight-passive players, you can increase your bluff frequency; against calling stations, focus on value betting.
