动态牌面河牌偷鸡(River Steal on Dynamic Board)

In the river round, when the board structure is dynamic and there are multiple possible draws, making a bluff bet to force the opponent to fold.

Overview

Dynamic Board usually refers to a board texture that is wet, with possible straights, flushes, or multiple draws, such as two-tone or connected boards. River Steal refers to bluffing on the river by betting, using the psychology that opponents may have missed draws or only hold medium-strength hands, forcing them to fold and win the pot.

Strategy Principle

On dynamic boards, opponents' ranges are wider, often containing many uncompleted draws (e.g., straight draws, flush draws). When the river fails to complete these draws, opponents often find it difficult to call large bets. Therefore, river steals can be highly effective.

Execution Key Points

  • Choose the right timing: when the river does not change the board structure and opponents' ranges have a high proportion of draws.
  • Bet sizing: usually requires a large bet (e.g., 70%-100% of the pot) to increase fold equity.
  • Consider opponent type: tight-passive players are more likely to fold, while loose or thinking players might call.

Notes

River steals on dynamic boards are not always successful. If an opponent has already made a made hand (e.g., top pair or better), or if the river completes a possible draw (e.g., flush gets there), the risk of stealing increases. Additionally, you need to balance your own range to avoid being exploited.
