小盲翻前干牌下注-弃牌(SB Preflop Bet-Fold Dry)

The strategy of the small blind proactively betting preflop with a weak hand lacking drawing potential, and folding when facing a raise.

Overview

SB Preflop Bet-Fold is a common preflop strategy, where "Dry" specifically refers to hands with poor quality, lacking flush or straight potential. This strategy is often used by the small blind attempting to steal blinds, but the hand strength is insufficient to withstand a response from the big blind.

Use Cases

  • Hand Range: Typically applicable to hands like K2o, Q3o, etc., which have no connectedness and no flush potential, making it difficult to form strong draws postflop.
  • Opponent Tendencies: Against opponents who fold at a high rate to steals but occasionally re-raise with weak hands.
  • Stack Depth: This strategy is riskier with shallow stacks and is more common in deep stack situations.

Execution Details

After making a preflop bet from the small blind, if the big blind re-raises (3-bet), the SB instantly folds to avoid getting involved in a large pot with weak holdings. The strategy relies on the opponent's fold equity, with the bet size typically being 2-3 big blinds.

Notes

  • Overusing this strategy may cause the SB's fold rate to be exploited by opponents, leading to frequent 3-bets.
  • Postflop, if no hand is hit, the SB can only passively fold, so "dry" hands should be used with caution.
  • Typical example: SB holds Q♠3♣, raises to 3BB preflop, BB re-raises to 10BB, SB folds.
