Eben Kurtzman

Eben Kurtzman is a professional poker player from the United States who has established himself as a regular presence in World Series of Poker (WSOP) events. While he has not yet captured a bracelet, his consistent cashes and deep runs in both low- and high-stakes tournaments demonstrate his skill and perseverance.

Kurtzman has recorded multiple WSOP cashes over the years. In 2019, he finished 63rd in Event #32: $1,000 Seniors No-Limit Hold'em Championship (out of 5,916 entries) and 51st in another $1,000 event (Event #??) with 2,452 entrants. In 2023, he cashed in three WSOP events: 226th in a $1,000 event (2,076 entries), 259th in a $1,500 event (7,207 entries), and 838th in the $10,000 Main Event (8,317 entries). Most recently, in 2025, he placed 416th in Event #85: $1,000 Ultra Stack (7,057 entries).

At the 2025 WSOP, Kurtzman was involved in two memorable hands. In Day 1 of Event #64: $1,000 Super Seniors, he held Q♥Q♣ and flopped a set against Dennis Poole's J♠J♣ on a J♦Q♠7♠ flop. After the turn 9♠ gave Poole flush outs, the river Q♦ gave Kurtzman quad queens, and he exclaimed, "Let me know when I'm going to make quads so I know not to isolate!"

In the 2025 WSOP Main Event Day 1B, Kurtzman flopped bottom two pair with T♥9♥ on a 9♦T♣Q♣ flop. He check-raised and then shoved all-in against Shane Martin, who held K♣J♥ for the nut straight. The board paired on the river with the T♠, giving Kurtzman a full house and eliminating Martin, the first bustout of the flight. Martin commented, "That's fun."

Based on available hand histories, Kurtzman plays a solid, patient game but is willing to commit chips when he has a strong holding. He uses check-raises to build pots and is not afraid to put opponents to tough decisions, as seen in his Main Event hand where he correctly assessed his equity.

While Kurtzman lacks a major title, his numerous WSOP cashes and reputation as a tough opponent make him a respected figure in the tournament community. He continues to compete actively, aiming for that elusive bracelet.
