Eduardo Bonilla

Born in Uruguay, Eduardo Bonilla began his poker career playing local tournaments before making a name for himself on the Latin American circuit. His disciplined approach and patience at the table quickly set him apart from his peers.

Bonilla’s most notable achievements came in the Conrad Poker Tour, a series of events hosted by the Conrad Punta del Este Resort & Casino in Uruguay. In September 2011, he won the 10th leg of the tour, topping a field of 149 players (with 74 rebuys and 137 add-ons) to claim the $106,000 first-place prize. The final table featured four Uruguayans, three Argentines, and two Brazilians, with Bonilla defeating Maria Bernadet Matsumoto heads-up.

Three years later, in August 2014, Bonilla struck again at the 9th date of the Conrad Poker Tour. With 155 entries and a total prize pool of $359,000, he emerged victorious once more, earning $115,000. This win solidified his reputation as one of Uruguay’s most successful tournament players.

Bonilla has also cashed in World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit events at the Conrad Punta del Este. In December 2016, he finished 6th in a $550 No-Limit Hold'em Single Reentry event for $1,750, and in December 2017, he placed 12th in an $800 Double Stack event for $1,130. These WSOP scores, combined with his Conrad Tour wins, bring his total live tournament earnings to over $177,000.

Bonilla is known for his conservative and patient playing style. He focuses on solid hand selection and leverages position to make disciplined decisions. His ability to remain calm under pressure and control pot sizes has allowed him to consistently reach deep stages in large-field tournaments.
