Farah Bonyadi

Farzad Bonyadi was born around 1959 in Tehran, Iran. He moved to the United States in 1983 and settled in Aliso Viejo, California. Before becoming a professional poker player, Bonyadi worked as an executive host at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles and as a shift manager at Hollywood Park Casino.

Bonyadi has won four WSOP bracelets, spanning from 1998 to 2021:

• 1998: $2,000 Limit Hold'em for $429,940
• 2004: $1,000 Deuce to Seven Triple Draw for $86,980
• 2005: $2,500 No Limit Hold'em for $594,960
• 2021: $10,000 No Limit Deuce to Seven Single Draw Championship for $297,051

His 31 WSOP cashes total over $2.2 million, and his best Main Event finish came in 1998 when he placed 27th.

Bonyadi has made two WPT final tables:

• Season 2 Legends of Poker: Finished 5th for $69,525.
• Season 9 WPT Championship: Finished runner-up to Scott Seiver, earning $1,061,900 – the largest cash of his career.

He also cashed in the 2024 WPT Prime Championship at Wynn Las Vegas for $10,500.

In 2018, Bonyadi’s mother, Farhintaj Bonyadi, won Event #36: $1,000 Super Seniors No-Limit Hold'em at the WSOP, making them the first mother-son pair to both win bracelets. Bonyadi’s total live tournament winnings exceed $4.7 million as of 2023.

Bonyadi is known for his versatility across limit and no-limit games, particularly in lowball variants like Deuce to Seven. He describes his style as adaptive, blending aggression with disciplined bluffing. His calm demeanor and deep tournament experience have earned him respect among peers.
