Garrett Allen

Garrett Adelstein (often called "G-Man") was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He attended the University of Arizona in Tucson before making a name for himself in the poker world. In 2013, he appeared on the CBS reality show Survivor, but was eliminated early.

Adelstein is primarily a high-stakes cash game player, rarely competing in tournaments. He has been a staple on live-streamed cash games, starting with Live at the Bike and later becoming a headliner on Hustler Casino Live. His presence is often cited as a key factor in the success of those streams.

Despite his focus on cash games, Adelstein has three recorded WSOP cashes:

In September 2022, during a $100/$200/$400 cash game on Hustler Casino Live, Adelstein lost a $269,000 pot to recreational player Robbi Jade Lew. Lew called a large bet on the turn with only jack-high and no draw, leading Adelstein to publicly accuse her of cheating. He left the game and was refunded his money by Lew, who denied any wrongdoing. The incident sparked widespread debate and an investigation that found a staff member had stolen chips but did not prove collusion. Adelstein took a year off from poker, returning in December 2023 for sessions at Wynn Las Vegas and the Tropicana.

In 2024, Adelstein announced his memoir, Beneath the Cards, which details his poker journey, the controversial hand, and his personal struggles with perfectionism and depression. He also offers private coaching and speaks on peak performance and mental health.

Adelstein is known for an aggressive, high-pressure style, frequently making large bets and bluffs. He is considered one of the most feared players in high-stakes live cash games, with strong reading abilities and psychological acumen. However, his emotional reactions to bad beats have sometimes been criticized.
