Gene Fisher

Gene Fisher is an American poker player from El Paso, Texas. He began his poker career in the late 1970s and quickly made a name for himself in the competitive tournament scene.

Fisher won his first WSOP bracelet in 1980 in the $1,500 No Limit Hold'em event, earning $113,400. He achieved his second bracelet in 1993 in the $1,500 Seven-Card Stud Split event, again taking home $113,400. Over his career, Fisher has 23 WSOP cashes totaling $581,246.

In 1981, Fisher finished third in the WSOP Main Event, which was won by Stu Ungar. He also finished runner-up to Ungar in the 1989 Super Bowl of Poker.

Fisher stopped playing in the World Series of Poker for many years due to problems with the IRS. He later returned to competition, demonstrating resilience and a lasting passion for the game.

Fisher is known for a solid, disciplined style of play. His consistent results over more than a decade highlight his skill and adaptability.
