Early Life and Background
George Danzer was born on July 17, 1983, in São Paulo, Brazil. He holds German citizenship and currently resides in Salzburg, Austria. As a youth, he was an accomplished chess player, representing Portugal in the World Youth Chess Championship.

Danzer has also excelled in online poker, winning two World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) titles and four Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) titles. His online accomplishments span various poker variants, including Pot-Limit Omaha, No-Limit Hold'em, Fixed-Limit Badugi, and 2-7 Single Draw.

2014 was the pinnacle of Danzer's career. At the 2014 World Series of Poker (WSOP), he won three gold bracelets:
- $10,000 Seven-Card Stud Razz Championship, for $294,792
- $10,000 Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo Championship, for $352,696
- WSOP Asia-Pacific $5,000 Mixed 8-Game Championship, for AU$84,600
With this outstanding performance, he was named the 2014 WSOP Player of the Year. In 2016, he added another bracelet, winning the $10,000 Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo Championship for $338,646. This brought his total to four WSOP gold bracelets, tying Dominik Nitsche for the most among German players.
Tournament Career Highlights
Danzer's best result in the WSOP Main Event was 305th place in 2006. He has also made multiple other final tables, including a third-place finish in the 2010 $10,000 2-7 Single Draw Lowball Championship and a runner-up result in the 2012 $2,500 Omaha/Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo event.
