Guillaume Walch

Guillaume Walch first appeared on the international poker scene at the 2013 World Series of Poker Europe, where he finished 45th in a €1,100 No-Limit Hold'em event out of 659 players, earning €2,341. This early cash marked the beginning of his journey in live poker tournaments.

Walch's most notable achievement came in April 2023 at the European Poker Tour (EPT) Monte-Carlo. He won Event #8, a €1,050 No-Limit Hold'em Hyper Turbo Knockout tournament, defeating a field of 104 players. In heads-up play, he beat fellow Frenchman Aurélien Russo to claim the top prize of €12,590 – his first career five-figure score. The victory also included a bounty component, with notable eliminations such as Omar Lakhdari (7th) and Ewen Trevidy (6th).

At the World Poker Tour (WPT) Prime Paris in February 2023, Walch demonstrated his skill in a hand against Freddy Krief. With a board showing [Ks][9h][5d][5s], Walch bet 4,000 from the big blind and was called. On the river [Qh], he bet 6,000, and Krief called. Walch showed [Kc][Qc] for two pair (Kings and Queens), winning the pot. This hand illustrates his ability to extract value with strong holdings.

Earlier, in January 2022, he cashed in the Unibet DeepStack Open Main Event, finishing 93rd out of 957 players for €1,420. He also made a final table in the €2,500 APO event in September 2022 (22nd out of 323, €7,100).

While detailed analysis of his style is limited, his results suggest a well-rounded player comfortable in both turbo and deep-stack formats.
