João Sabino, also known by the poker alias "NNLagos" on PokerStars, emerged as a notable figure in Portuguese poker circles in the early 2010s. In October 2013, he finished 5th in the PokerStars Sunday Storm, a $11 buy-in tournament with 42,403 entrants, earning $8,014.16. The result highlighted his ability to navigate large online fields.
Sabino has been a regular on the Portuguese live circuit, particularly the Solverde Poker Season. In 2016, he led Day 2 of Etapa #9 in Vilamoura. In 2022, he was chip leader heading into Day 2B of Etapa #3. He also finished 4th in the 10th stage of the Solverde Poker Season in Portimão in 2013.
