Kathy Cady

Kathy Liebert was born Kathleen H. Liebert on October 1, 1967, in Nashville, Tennessee. She began her professional poker career as a prop player in Colorado before moving to Las Vegas to compete full-time.

Liebert's career-defining moment came in 2002 when she won the online poker Million, becoming the first woman to win a $1 million prize in a single tournament. She defeated a final table that included Phil Hellmuth, Chris Ferguson, and Mel Judah. In 2004, she won her first WSOP bracelet in the $1,500 Limit Hold'em Shootout event for $110,180. She also made six World Poker Tour final tables, including a runner-up finish at the 2009 Bay 101 Shooting Stars tournament.

Liebert has cashed over 128 times at the World Series of Poker, with two 17th-place finishes in the Main Event (1998 and 2000). She has earned more than $7 million in live tournament winnings, placing her among the top female earners in poker history. In 2026, she won her second WSOP Circuit ring in the Ladies Event at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas.

Known for a tight-aggressive style, Liebert has been praised for her consistency and longevity. She was inducted into the Women in Poker Hall of Fame in 2010 and was nominated for the Poker Hall of Fame in 2022. She resides in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Downey, California.
