Lester Edoc

Lester Edoc is a legendary Filipino professional poker player and multi-time Asian Poker Tour (APT) champion. Widely regarded as one of the most successful and consistent tournament grinders in the history of Asian poker, he sits inside the top five of the Philippines All-Time Money List. His live tournament earnings have passed the $2.5 million mark, with more than 200 recorded cashes, and he has maintained a constant presence on the Asian circuit for well over a decade.

Edoc originally comes from Baguio City, where he got his start running home games before deciding to turn professional. He later settled in Pasig and became a long-time Team Pro at the Metro Card Club. In local poker circles he is known as "the man who needs no introduction," a nickname that reflects both his longevity and the respect he commands across the region. Rather than limiting himself to the Philippines, Edoc embraced the modern Asian poker boom, traveling extensively to Taiwan, Vietnam, and South Korea to compete against the new generation of international grinders.

Edoc's defining achievement came in 2018, when he won back-to-back APT Main Events in Manila, cementing his status as a legend on the Asian circuit. His international breakthrough continued in 2020 at Okada Manila, where he won the inaugural PokerStars Red Dragon Manila ₱500,000 Super High Roller for ₱5,222,000 ($102,127). The Asia Pacific Poker Tour has frequently featured him in its Manila legs, including the APPT Manila at Cove Manila in Okada Manila, where the headline event carried a bold PHP 25 million (about $427,840) guarantee. In 2026, he won his 21st APT title at APT Taipei, finished fifth in the APT Jeju Classic Superstar Challenge for $85,500, and cashed ninth in a $2,000 NLH event at Triton One for $9,700.

Edoc is renowned for an aggressive and fearless playing style. He tends to build massive stacks early in tournaments and applies intense ICM pressure near the bubble, making him a difficult opponent in both deep-stacked and short-stacked situations.
