Richard Gryko began playing poker in the early 2000s, entering the live tournament scene with a cash in the 2005 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Event #27: $2,500 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better, finishing 26th for $4,955. He quickly transitioned to Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO), which became his specialty. In 2006, he made a deep run in the WSOP Main Event, finishing 50th out of 8,773 players for $164,932, signaling his arrival on the international stage. His most recent triumph came in May 2026 at the Triton Series Montenegro, where he won the $25,000 PLO Bounty Quattro event wire-to-wire, earning $1,240,000 – his second Triton title. This victory cemented his status as one of the top PLO players globally.

Gryko is known for an extremely aggressive approach, particularly in PLO. He frequently employs large bets and raises to apply constant pressure, using his keen hand-reading skills to exploit opponents' weaknesses. In multi-way pots, he often seizes control through aggressive leading and check-raises, forcing tough decisions. His style is well-suited for high-roller events where deep stacks and high blinds demand precision and fearlessness.
