Stoyan Obretenov

Stoyan Obreshkov began his poker journey playing six-max cash games before switching to heads-up cash, where he grew his bankroll in 2013. He transitioned to multi-table tournaments (MTTs) both online and live in 2015, progressively climbing stakes. His early focus on cash games provided a solid foundation for his later tournament success.

Obreshkov’s top live score came from a third-place finish in the $5,000 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (SHRPO) Main Event, earning $350,000. In 2021, he chopped the Irish Open heads-up event for €225,000. He also placed seventh in the 2020 WSOP Main Event for $160,000, and fourth in a $10,000 online poker event for $155,000. His WSOP online results include a 10th-place finish in the 2024 WSOP Online Championship Event #10 ($10,000 buy-in) for $34,165.

Obreshkov has consistently performed in online high-stakes tournaments. He finished second in the GGMasters for $106,000 and has multiple deep runs in online poker events. According to WSOP.com, his total live and online earnings exceed $1,725,000, with five final tables and over 215 cashes. He is known for specializing in ICM, building extensive preflop and postflop solutions.

A coach for Run It Once and GTO Wizard, Obreshkov focuses on ICM strategy and mental game. He has worked with renowned performance coach Elliot Roe to improve his mindset and balance poker with family life. His coaching style emphasizes a holistic approach, including work outside the tables. He has also created instructional content such as "5 ICM Tips to Crush Poker Tournaments."

Obreshkov lives in his hometown of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, near his parents, with his wife and two young children. He acknowledges the challenges of Bulgaria’s time zone for online poker but values the family support.
