枪口位置进攻性因子(AF from UTG)

AF from UTG

A numerical metric that measures a player's bet, raise, and call ratios when in the UTG position, reflecting their aggressive tendency.

Overview

AF from UTG is a poker statistic used to evaluate a player's aggression from the Under the Gun position (the first seat to the left of the big blind). Its core is the Aggression Factor, typically calculated as: (Number of Bets + Number of Raises) ÷ Number of Calls. AF from UTG specifically limits the data sample to the UTG position, allowing analysis of how often a player applies pressure from that seat.

Interpretation & Usage

  • A high AF value (e.g., > 3) usually indicates that the player tends to bet or raise with strong hands from UTG and rarely slow-plays or calls, but may be overly aggressive and easily exploited by opponents with positional advantage.
  • A low AF value (e.g., < 1) suggests the player calls more often, possibly entering pots passively, or habitually enters with marginal hands, making them vulnerable to continuation bets.
  • Should be evaluated alongside stats like VPIP (Voluntarily Put Money In Pot) and PFR (Pre-Flop Raise). For example, low VPIP with high AF may indicate a player who only plays strong hands and attacks aggressively; high VPIP with low AF may signal a loose-passive player.

Note

The reliability of AF from UTG depends on sample size. Generally, data from at least several hundred hands is recommended; otherwise, sample error may lead to misleading conclusions. Additionally, different player styles and table dynamics can affect the practical meaning of this metric.
