按钮位25大盲注泡沫游戏(BTN 25bb Bubble Play)

BTN 25bb Bubble Play

During the tournament bubble phase, when the button player has about 25 big blinds, an aggressive or conservative strategy adjusted based on ICM pressure.

Overview

BTN 25bb Bubble Play is a typical situation during the tournament bubble (just before the money). The player is on the button (BTN) with approximately 25 big blinds (bb). At this point, ICM (Independent Chip Model) pressure is significant; the survival value of short stacks outweighs the accumulation value of big stacks, so the strategy must deviate from standard chip EV.

Position and Stack Depth Advantage

The button is the last to act preflop, which is advantageous for stealing blinds and squeezing. A 25bb stack depth is moderately short — not a super short stack that must shove, nor a big stack with flexible play. At this depth, the standard open raise is 2-2.5bb, but during the bubble, more caution is required.

Strategic Adjustment Principles

  • Stealing range becomes tighter: Since the fold rate is high during the bubble, you can moderately widen your raising range, but avoid getting caught between heavy re-raises from the small and big blinds. Typically, open with about 40-50% of hands, depending on your experience and opponent tendencies.
  • Calling frequency decreases: When facing an all-in, the calling range should be significantly tighter, prioritizing hand strength over mere pot odds. For example, if the small blind shoves, evaluate the ICM impact when holding medium pairs or Ax hands.
  • Avoid tangling with short stacks: When a short stack (under 10bb) shoves, unless you have a strong hand (e.g., TT+, AQ+), generally fold because eliminating them benefits your chance of making the money.
  • Big stack aggression: If a big stack player is not respecting your raises, you can occasionally fight back with marginal hands, but ensure you are not easily dominated.

Common Action Examples

  • Suppose blinds 500/1000, ante 100, you hold A9s on the BTN with 25000 chips. Usually raise to 2200, but if both small and big blinds are short stacks and folding frequently, raise to 3000 to increase fold equity.
  • If the small blind (a big stack) re-raises to 6000, fold because your hand is not strong enough against his range and ICM risk is high.

Important Notes

During the bubble, decisions require real-time assessment of table dynamics, including opponent aggression, chip distribution, and payout structure. It is recommended to prioritize securing a cash spot and avoid unnecessary marginal confrontations.
