CO位10BB偷盲(CO 10bb Steal)
CO 10bb Steal
In poker tournaments, when a player is in the cutoff CO position with approximately 10 big blinds, the act of raising in an attempt to steal the blinds and antes.
Overview
CO 10bb Steal is a typical short-stack strategy in No-Limit Texas Hold'em tournaments. The cutoff (CO) is the seat to the right of the button. It offers a positional advantage over the hijack (HJ) and earlier positions postflop, while also allowing direct pressure on the blinds, making it a common position for stealing blinds. A stack of about 10 big blinds (BB) falls into the "short stack" or "critical stack" range. At this depth, players cannot afford complex postflop situations, so preflop stealing becomes the main source of profit.
Strategy Key Points
- Raise Size: Typically raise to 2.0–2.5 BB to minimize risk while effectively forcing the blinds to fold. Raising too high increases risk; raising too low invites calls.
- Hand Range: Adjust based on opponent tightness/aggression. Typical steal ranges include: all pairs (22+), all Ace-high hands (A2s+, AJo+), some suited connectors (e.g., 54s+), and high cards like KQ. Against tight-weak blinds, the range can widen to any two cards; against loose-aggressive opponents, tighten up.
- Subsequent Action: If a blind calls, continue with an aggressive continuation bet postflop, as a short stack showing weakness becomes a target for resteals. If facing a 3-bet, decide between shoving or folding based on pot odds and hand strength.
Risks and Adjustments
- When blinds are calling stations or like to defend with 3-bets, the success rate and EV of stealing decrease; reduce steal frequency in such cases.
- ICM pressure in tournaments also affects decisions: near the money bubble or final table, survival value increases, and a CO 10bb steal may be too risky, so tighten up appropriately.
- Note the presence of antes: when antes are involved, stealing offers better pot odds, allowing for more aggression.
Example
Assume blinds are 500/1000 with a 100 ante. The CO has 10,000 chips (~10 BB). The CO holds 7♦8♦ and raises to 2,200. The big blind folds, successfully stealing. If the big blind calls and the flop comes A♣9♠2♦, the CO can lead with a bet of about 1/3 pot to force a fold.
