CO位15BB三注全下(CO 15bb 3-Bet Jam)

CO 15bb 3-Bet Jam

In No-Limit Texas Hold'em, when a player in the CO position has about 15 big blinds, the aggressive strategy of 3-betting and jamming going all-in against an open raiser.

Strategy Background

CO 15bb 3-Bet Jam is common in late tournament stages when stack depth shrinks to about 15 big blinds. The player in the CO position (cutoff) faces an open raise from middle or earlier position and chooses to 3-bet shove all-in instead of using a standard raise size. This play aims to maximize fold equity and avoid complex postflop decisions.

Applicable Conditions

  • Stack Depth: Typically 12-18bb, with 15bb being the standard; deeper stacks reduce shove efficiency, while shallower stacks make open jam more optimal.
  • Opponent Tendencies: More effective against tight-passive players; exercise caution if opponents have wide calling ranges.
  • Range Selection: Includes value hands (e.g., TT+, AQ+) and some semi-bluffs (e.g., small suited connectors, AXs), depending on opponent reactions.

Procedure

  1. An early-position player (e.g., UTG, MP) open raises to 2-2.5bb.
  2. The CO player, holding 15bb, shoves all-in directly.
  3. Subsequent players (BTN, SB, BB) and the original raiser decide whether to call.

Pros and Cons

  • Advantages:
    • Puts immense pressure, forcing opponents to fold marginal hands.
    • Avoids postflop technical deficiencies or unfavorable board situations.
    • Leverages ICM factors (in tournaments) to eliminate opponents or accumulate chips.
  • Disadvantages:
    • High risk when called, potentially busting out.
    • If opponents have strong calling ranges, the overall expected value may be negative.

Notes

  • Avoid using this move too frequently from the CO to prevent opponent adjustments.
  • Consider your own image and table dynamics; if you have been stealing blinds often, you may face more calls.
  • In cash games, this play is generally not recommended due to more flexible stack depths.
