关煞位30大盲偷盲(CO 30bb Steal)

CO 30bb Steal

Preflop, a cutoff CO player holding about 30 big blinds makes an aggressive raise to attempt to steal the blinds or isolate opponents.

Position Advantage

The CO position is after the under-the-gun positions and before the cutoff (BTN), making it one of the last positions to act preflop (second only to BTN). When it folds to the CO, the remaining players are only BTN, SB, and BB. A CO raise applies direct pressure on the blinds, especially when the BB's defense range is wide, leading to a higher success rate for steals.

30bb Depth Strategy

30 big blinds is a medium stack depth, falling between short stacks (<20bb) and deep stacks (>50bb). At this depth, the standard raise size for a steal is 2.2-3bb, balancing the threat to the blinds with the risk of excessive pot control. With around 30bb, postflop fold equity remains relatively high, so the stealing range can be slightly widened, including hands like small pairs, suited connectors, etc., that have potential to realize equity postflop.

Responding to Re-steals

When a CO steal faces a re-steal (3-bet) from the BTN or blinds, defense ranges must be handled cautiously at 30bb. Typically, it is advisable to continue (by raising or calling) with about 10-15% of hands (e.g., AJ+, KQ, 99+). Other hands should be folded to avoid unfavorable postflop situations. At the same time, mixing in some 4-bet shoves (e.g., AK, QQ+) helps balance the range.

Risk Warning

Frequent stealing over the long term can be exploited by observant opponents, especially deep-stacked players who may re-steal with a wide range. In practice, strategy should be adjusted based on opponent tendencies (e.g., BB fold-to-steal rate, BTN 3-bet frequency).

Typical Example

  • Hand example: CO gets A5o, stack 30bb, folds to CO, raise to 2.5bb. If BB 3-bet to 8bb, A5o is usually a fold; if BB calls, hitting an A or a draw on the flop allows continued aggression.
