CO位置75大盲直接全下(CO 75bb Open Jam)

CO 75bb Open Jam

In No-Limit Texas Hold'em, an aggressive play where a player in the Cutoff CO position goes all-in directly without raising when the effective stack size is around 75 big blinds.

Overview

CO 75bb Open Jam is an unconventional strategy rarely used in tournaments or deep-stack cash games, typically adopted only in specific situations. Its core is to exploit opponents' higher fold equity when facing a deep stack, as well as the positional advantage of the CO seat relative to later players (button, blinds).

Applicable Scenarios

  • Late tournament stages: When the blind level is high and the effective stack is around 75bb (approximately 75 big blinds), a direct all-in can compress opponents' calling ranges and steal the blinds and dead money in the pot.
  • Tight opponent ranges: If the button and small blind players have a high fold rate against all-ins, especially if they tend to avoid getting involved in large pots with deep stacks, Open Jam can be used to steal the pot.
  • Hand strength and range balancing: With medium-strong holdings (e.g., AJ+, medium pairs), shoving avoids complex postflop decisions and takes down the pot immediately.

Strategy Rationale

At 75bb depth, direct all-in is uncommon because players typically raise to 3-4bb to probe opponents. However, when the CO player believes that later position players might be too tight-passive, or that the blinds will fold marginal hands due to stack depth, Open Jam can maximize fold equity. Additionally, if the CO player performs poorly postflop, shoving simplifies decision-making and reduces errors.

Risks and Drawbacks

  • Cost of being called: If called by a later position player, it often means the opponent holds a strong hand (e.g., QQ+, AK), putting the stack at significant risk.
  • Lost value: With strong hands (e.g., AA, KK), a direct all-in drives opponents away, preventing further value extraction.
  • Range imbalance: Frequent use of Open Jam makes your range easily readable, leading to wider calls.

Example

Effective stack 75bb. CO player has A♠️K♦️. Button and big blind are both tight-aggressive. CO chooses to shove all-in. Button folds, big blind thinks and folds. CO wins the pot.

Notes

  • This play must be considered in conjunction with ICM pressure in tournaments, especially near the bubble.
  • In cash games, deep-stacked Open Jam is generally not recommended, as experienced players may call with marginal hands.
