干燥转牌圈的CO位(CO on Dry Turn)

CO on Dry Turn

In Texas Hold'em, refers to the decision situation where the player in the CO position faces a dry board on the turn unlikely to form draws.

Term Background

"CO on Dry Turn" is a term in Texas Hold'em that describes a specific position and board texture. CO (Cutoff) refers to the position to the immediate right of the button, usually holding positional advantage post-flop. Dry Turn means the turn card does not complete any obvious draws, such as a flop of K-7-2 (rainbow) and a turn of 4, which creates no clear drawing possibilities.

Strategic Implications

On a dry turn, the CO player is usually in a favorable position to control the pot more effectively. Typical strategies include:

  • Continuation Bet: If the CO was the preflop aggressor and was called on the flop, a dry turn is a good spot to continue betting to represent a strong hand, forcing opponents to fold marginal holdings.
  • Value Bet: If the CO holds a strong hand like top pair top kicker or a set, a dry turn is an excellent time to value bet, as opponents are unlikely to outdraw.
  • Check-Call: With a medium-strength hand (e.g., middle pair), the CO may consider checking, using position to decide whether to call a bluff on the river.
  • Slow Play: When the board is extremely dry and opponents likely have no draws, slow-playing a strong hand can induce them to bet on the river.

Notes

On a dry turn, the CO should avoid excessive bluffing, as opponents are less likely to fold (they are more likely to have made hands). Adjust based on opponent tendencies and stack depth.
